Dr. Michael Mitchell
Chief of Surgery
Dr. Mitchell is a clinical associate professor at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine and a member of the Erie County and New York State Medical Societies. Dr. Mitchell established a Vascular and Endovascular Surgery program at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in 2005.
A general, vascular and laparascopic surgeon, Dr. Mitchell is a graduate of Cansius College and the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. He completed his surgical training at SUNY Buffalo. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Mojdeh S. Kappus, M.D.
Chief of Bariatrics, General Surgeon
A former Sarnoff Cardiovascular Research Foundation fellow, Dr. Kappus completed post-graduate training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery.
Dr. Kappus, who grew up in Newfane, is a graduate of Harvard College and the University at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. She completed both her internship and residency in general surgery at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, N.Y., and subsequently completed an advanced surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
Peter Muscarella II, MD
Surgeon
Dr. Muscarella participated in a two-year pancreatic cancer research fellowship during his residency training at The Ohio State University where he subsequently served as an Associate Professor of Surgery.
Dr. Muscarella graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Microbiology prior to receiving his medical degree from New York Medical College.
