Pharmacy Residency Program

home health service

The Pharmacy Residency Program at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is an accredited and directed postgraduate training program in a defined area of pharmacy practice.

It provides the knowledge and experience that pharmacy practitioners need to face challenges in today’s complex health care systems, while also providing essential skills to meet the practice demands of the future.

Building upon participants’ Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education, the program contributes to the development of clinical pharmacists who will be responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

A broad range of practice experiences

As a comprehensive, short-term acute care facility, Niagara Falls Memorial offers a broad range of practice experiences in a community setting.   The comprehensive pharmacy services provided here by outstanding pharmacists and D’Youville College faculty members offer pharmacy residents an excellent training site for supervised practice development.

Memorial offers a one-year Pharmacy Residency.  The program is composed of both required and elective learning experiences in patient care and practice management.

Our program is fully accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).  It is assessed annually and uses residents’ evaluations as an important component of continuous improvement.
