History of the Foundation

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center was founded in 1895 by 200 citizens who saw the need for a hospital in the city of Niagara Falls and responded by pledging 25 cents per month to make it a reality.

The Foundation continues this tradition by raising financial support and awareness for programs and services that benefit the patients we serve.

Funds raised by the Foundation are used to purchase equipment, institute programs that enhance patient care, improve facilities and promote wellness.

How your generosity has made a difference for our patients and the community:

The Robert Steinjan Car Show

After the passing of their father, the Steinjan family pledged the proceeds of their annual car show to the new Cardiac & Stroke Unit in appreciation of the care their father received at NFMMC.

Planned Giving- A lasting Legacy

Planned giving is a way to leave a lasting legacy by supporting Memorial Medical Center and can provide a wide range of benefits to you and your loved ones.

Planned giving is not reserved for just the wealthiest families. Planned gifts of any size support the mission of Memorial Medical Center. By remembering Memorial with a bequest in your will or as a beneficiary of your life insurance or retirement plan assets, you can make a lasting difference in the Niagara community.

Charitable remainder trusts and gift annuities provide income for life for the donor and/or other beneficiary. They can also help save on estate and gift taxes. Different forms of giving offer different advantages. When making a planned gift, please consult with your attorney or other advisors, as well as Memorial's Foundation. Or call the Foundation for a referral.

Have you already provided for Memorial in your estate plan? Please notify the Foundation. We want to recognize you and keep you informed of Memorial's activities.
