Favorite thing about the program: The time and care investment preceptors make in our education and the ability to teach medical students in return. Our ability to get involved in different hospital committees of interest.
Plans after Residency: I would like to establish a private practice, possibly a direct primary care model, and have a focus on integrative medicine and wellness.
Hobbies & Interests: I like to learn different languages and immerse myself in other cultures. Buffalo has a fantastic foodie scene and I make an effort to try different cuisines regularly with my husband. Artistically, I like to create miniature scenes, paint and interior design. I seek out various wellness retreats all over the country and here in Buffalo/Niagara Falls.

Sara Maria Jensen, MD

Medical School: Trinity School of Medicine
Favorite thing about the program: I know I will leave residency as the doctor I genuinely want to become. At NFMMC, I’m supposed to pursue my interests while also integrating my strengths into my everyday work. It’s that freedom that motivates me most. Not to mention, our program director is incredibly involved in our personal and class development. This is a unique facet that many other programs simply cannot offer. Lastly, serving the community that is here is privileged work. I wholeheartedly find honor in answering the call of medicine that presents as the poor, the addicted, the underserved, and often the voiceless.
Plans after Residency: I aim to continue my training through a dedicated obstetrical fellowship while also working in the inpatient setting.
Hobbies & Interests: I draw, read, and learn about media design, photography and videography.
