Niagara Falls Memorial’s ER1 Emergency Department Announces Telehealth Service

June 2, 2020

Area residents concerned about visiting the emergency room during the COVID-19 pandemic now have another option for seeking care.

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center today began offering ED2Home, a telemedicine service created to address the needs of people who need emergency department advice while sheltering at home.

“With a true, life-threatening emergency the best and most obvious choice is to call 911 and get to our emergency room. It’s safe, it’s open 24/7 and we are always ready to address your emergent and urgent care needs,” said Gerald Gorman, M.D., Memorial’s chief of emergency services.

“But if the choice isn’t clear or you can’t get to the emergency room, our telehealth service provides access to experienced and trusted local healthcare providers for non-emergent healthcare needs and questions. A telephone or smart device is all you need.”

ED2Home allows patients to visit or chat with a Memorial emergency department clinician and discuss any and all health concerns and treatment options. The cost of telemedicine visits is covered by virtually all insurance companies.

To speak to a provider about scheduling an ED2Home telemedicine appointment, call Memorial’s ER1 Emergency Department at 278-4011 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
