Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Welcomes Three New Primary Care Physicians

Niagara Falls, NY— Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) is thrilled to welcome Drs. Merna George, Jawdat A. Mustafa, and Kaung M. Ko to its primary care physician team. The recruitment of these highly skilled physicians highlights NFMMC’s commitment to providing the highest-quality healthcare to our community and enhancing access to comprehensive medical services.

Originally from Mississauga, Ontario, Dr. George will join the Golisano Primary Care Center in August 2024, specializing in family medicine and community health. Dr. George is a graduate of St. George’s University, where she received a Bachelor’s in Premedical Sciences and a Doctor of Medicine degree. She is completing her Residency training at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa Family Medicine Residency Program. Dr. George also taught medical students and residents at the University Medical Center outpatient clinic and Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa, focusing on clinical scenarios and pathologies across various specialties, including pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, inpatient medicine, and outpatient family medicine.

Dr. Jawdat A. Mustafa, a native of Niagara Falls and a specialist in internal and preventive medicine, will join Memorial’s primary care team at the Summit Healthplex in September 2024. Dr. Mustafa received his medical degree from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences and is currently completing his residency in the Combined Internal Medicine/Preventive Medicine program at the University at Buffalo. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Niagara University, where he also volunteered with NFMMC’s volunteer services, gaining valuable experience and deepening his connection to the community.

Specializing in family medicine, Dr. Kaung M. Ko will join Memorial’s primary care team in August 2025 after completing his NFMMC/Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) Family Practice Residency. A resident of California, Dr. Ko graduated from the University of California, Irvine, with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from St. George’s University School of Medicine and a Master of Public Health. During his residency at NFMMC, Dr. Ko trained in various fields, including adult, pediatric, and obstetric medicine.

Each all-ages clinic provides integrated health services to adults with special needs and their families, along with a wide range of services and programs for the community.

Founded in 1895, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) has a long tradition of serving the Niagara community.
