Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Welcomes Dr. Erik Freeland to Orthopaedic Team

Niagara Falls, NY — Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) is delighted to announce the addition of Dr. Erik Freeland, DO, to its esteemed orthopaedic team. Dr. Freeland, a member of the UB Orthopedic group, is renowned for his expertise in treating foot and ankle disorders with both nonoperative and operative techniques.

Dr. Freeland’s academic achievements are a testament to his commitment to excellence in orthopaedics. A western New York native, he began his journey at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he earned a degree in physical therapy. Dr. Freeland pursued further studies at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he obtained his medical degree and completed his orthopedic surgical residency. His pursuit of expertise led him to the University of Pennsylvania, where he finished an orthopedic foot and ankle fellowship.

His past roles include Orthopedic Surgeon at Cooper University Hospital in Camden, NJ, where he also held the position of Division Head of Foot and Ankle and Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery.

Dr. Freeland’s active memberships with the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopaedics, and the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society demonstrate his dedication to the orthopaedic community.

Founded in 1895, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) has a long tradition of serving the Niagara community. NFMMC’s hospital and primary stroke program are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, and its primary care network is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. Memorial’s inpatient services include a cardiac/stroke unit, a medical–surgical unit, an ICU, a Labor and Delivery unit, and an Adult Inpatient Psychiatry unit, the only one of its kind in Niagara County.
