Niagara Falls, NY – Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Teams Up with Totally Buffalo Cares to Support New Moms

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) is proud to announce a heartwarming collaboration with Totally Buffalo and their non-profit wing, Totally Buffalo Cares, to support new mothers who have given birth at NFMMC. Totally Buffalo Cares leadership brought donated baby items on November 30th at the Mary C. Dyster Women’s Pavilion, located at Memorial’s downtown campus.

In a generous act of giving, Totally Buffalo Cares, founded by Mary Friona-Celani and Paula Friona-Cheff, donated ‘Bags of Love’ to new mothers and their babies. These bags include essential items such as blankets, onesies, nail care kits, laundry soap, and a brush and comb set. Additionally, vital resources like car seats and playpens will be available for those in need.

Mary Friona-Celani and Paula Friona-Cheff, proud natives of Niagara Falls, are widely recognized in the community. Many may know Mary from her time as one of the most watched and loved reporters on Channel 2 News.

This is not only a generous donation for our hospital, but a tribute to the legacy of Phil Friona, the late father of the founders, who was also born at NFMMC. “Our dad loved to give back and had a soft spot for babies. This is our way of continuing his mission of helping Falls families in need,” said Mary and Paula, reflecting on their father’s charitable spirit.

The initiative by Totally Buffalo Cares comes at a crucial time when many families are facing challenges. “We understand the struggle, and we want to ensure that every mom and baby have access to these basic necessities,” the founders added.
