Dr. Wind is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who holds an additional sports medicine certification from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. A member of Memorial’s medical staff since 2005, he is a clinical associate professor at the University of Buffalo, where he serves as fellowship director in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery.
Dr. Wind is one of the founders of University Sports Medicine (now UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine), which has partnered with Niagara Falls Memorial for the past 15 years to provide premier sports medicine and athletic training services to Niagara County Community College and the Niagara Falls, Niagara-Wheatfield, Grand Island, North Tonawanda, Tonawanda, Kenmore East, Kenmore West, Charter School of Applied Technology (CSAT) and Lewiston-Porter school districts.
UBMD Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine and Memorial Medical Center joined Niagara University in August to announce an agreement to provide sports medicine and supplemental athletic training services to Niagara’s Division I sports teams and club sports athletic programs.
Dr. Wind, who completed his sports medicine fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, is head team physician for Niagara University Athletics and the University at Buffalo’s Division I men’s football and basketball teams. He also serves as head team physician for the American Hockey League’s Rochester Americans and is assistant team physician for the NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.
He has been widely published in peer-reviewed medical journals and is a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery, Arthroscopy Association of North America American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
