KeyBank and First Niagara Foundation Announce Support for Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s COVID-19 Response Efforts

April 10, 2020

$60,000 Grant will provide essential equipment, supplies, and pharmaceuticals

(NIAGARA FALLS) – April 10, 2020 — KeyBank, in partnership with the First Niagara Foundation, is awarding a grant for $60,000 to support healthcare workers at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center and their ongoing efforts to care for COVID-19 patients in our community.

The funding will provide essential equipment, supplies, and pharmaceuticals necessary to fight Coronavirus, save lives, and protect healthcare workers. This, as the Western New York community is expected to see its Coronavirus caseload peak in the coming weeks.

“Our healthcare workers are the backbone of our community and are working every day to provide critical care for Coronavirus patients, while putting themselves at risk,” said Elizabeth Gurney, Executive Director of the KeyBank and First Niagara Foundations. “We are committed to providing our unwavering support for their enduring and heroic actions during this time of great need.”

Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center is the last-standing independent hospital in Western New York.

“Niagara Falls Memorial is in urgent need of support during this pandemic, and our brave healthcare workers are making tremendous sacrifices,” said Joseph A. Ruffolo, President and CEO. “We are grateful to the KeyBank and First Niagara Foundation as we navigate this uncertain and unprecedented time.”
