(NIAGARA FALLS, NY) – Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) proudly announces the appointment of Dr. Peter Muscarella as its Chief of Surgery, effective July 1, 2023. Dr. Muscarella will lead the surgical team in providing exceptional care and advancing surgical advancements, further solidifying NFMMC’s commitment to delivering outstanding healthcare services.

Dr. Muscarella joined NFMMC in 2021 as a general surgeon, where he quickly demonstrated his commitment to providing exceptional patient care. Before his tenure at NFMMC, he held esteemed positions, including Associate Professor of Surgery at The Ohio State University and Professor of Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Muscarella has also contributed significantly to the surgery field, co-authoring numerous publications, including over 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, showcasing his dedication to advancing medical knowledge. His involvement in research projects and clinical trials highlights his commitment to staying at the forefront of surgical innovation.

Founded in 1895, Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC) has a long tradition of serving the Niagara community. NFMMC’s hospital and primary stroke program are accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, and its primary care network is accredited by the National Committee for Quality Assurance.
