Dr. Muscarella joins Niagara Falls Memorial surgical team
Peter Muscarella II, M.D., has joined the surgical team at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center where he will practice Gastrointestinal and General Surgery.
Dr. Muscarella graduated from the University of Rochester with a degree in Microbiology prior to receiving his medical degree from New York Medical College.
Dr. Muscarella participated in a two-year pancreatic cancer research fellowship during his residency training at The Ohio State University where he subsequently served as an Associate Professor of Surgery.
Following his time at The Ohio State University, Dr. Muscarella joined Montefiore Medical Center as a Professor of Surgery where he served as the Director of Pancreatic Surgery and the General Surgery Site Director for the Einstein campus.
The recipient of numerous awards for achievement and excellence, Dr. Muscarella actively participates in numerous national surgical organizations including the American College of Surgeons, the Society for Surgery of the Alimentary Tract, the Society of University Surgeons, and the Association for Academic Surgery.
Dr. Muscarella participates in research projects and clinical trials and has co-authored more than 100 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He currently serves on the editorial boards for the nationally recognized journals “Surgery” and the “Journal of Surgical Research.”
Dr. Muscarella has extensive experience in Hepato-Pancreatico-Biliary Surgery, Foregut Surgery, and complex abdominal wall reconstruction. He will see patients on Memorial’s downtown campus, 620 Tenth Street Suite 704.
