Annual Wellness Exams
Once a year a complete wellness exam should be scheduled for women beginning at the age of 18. Your gynecologist will tailor the exam based on your medical history and your stage of life.

Mammogram
Mammography is the most common tool currently used to diagnose breast cancer. A mammogram is an X-ray picture of the breasts that creates an image that is then reviewed by a radiologist. A mammogram is what doctors use to look for early signs of breast cancer.

Call to schedule your mammogram today 278-4444

Regular screenings are recommended for women 50 to 74 every two years. If you are 40-49 you should discuss with your physician as to screening. Regular Self-breast exams are always encouraged.

If you cannot afford a mammogram or you have lost your insurance contact Cancer Services Program of Niagara County (located at NFMMC) at 716-278-4898.

Preventitive Care

Menopause
Menopause marks the time in a woman’s life for the end of menstruation and fertility. Defined as not having a period for at least a year, menopause occurs at an average age of 51, although onset can vary widely.

Is a gynecologic condition affecting your health and quality of life?
Many conditions can impact your well-being and daily life, such as:

  • Severe pelvic pain
  • Abnormal or very heavy bleeding
  • Fibroids
  • Cancer

Conditions such as these can lead to surgery. At the Women’s Center of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center there are options should you need surgery. One of those options is minimally invasive surgery.
