Get the spine care you need today

Neurosurgery is a surgical specialty that treats the nervous system, including the spinal cord and brain, for disorders caused by birth defects, traumatic injuries and other reasons.

Spine surgery may be indicated if conservative treatments aren’t effective and your pain is continual and incapacitating. It can relieve pain or numbness that goes down one or both arms or legs.

Such symptoms are frequently caused by compressed nerves in your spine caused by disk problems or by an overgrowth of bone resulting in bone spurs on your spine.

Neck and back problems

Patients who may benefit from a neurosurgeon’s care include those diagnosed with:

  • Herniated disc
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Spondylolisthesis
  • Spinal cord compression
  • Scoliosis
  • Foraminal stenosis
