Smoking Cessation Initiative

Promoting a smoke free community in Niagara Falls.

The goal of this program is to stress patient education on smoking cessation, provide resources to the community on ways to quit by taking into account social and environmental factors, allowing patients to be community leaders and potentially advocate for a smoke-free community in Niagara Falls

“Tobacco is the single greatest preventable cause of disease and premature death in America today. Starting today, every doctor, nurse, health plan, purchaser, and medical school in America should make treating tobacco dependence a top priority” - David Catcher MD, PhD, Director, National Center for Primary Care

The goal is to reduce the amount of smokers-ultimately creating healthier lifestyles,  and empower NFMMC patients to be advocates for their community.
