Women who are admitted to the pavilion for inpatient care are given private accommodations with their own bathroom, shower and cable TV. Obstetrics and Prenatal CareA range of offerings to make quality prenatal care more accessible and ensure area women deliver healthy babies is available at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. We are pleased to announce that Women’s Medicine of Niagara is now providing obstetrical and gynecological services at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Women’s Medicine of Niagara is a comprehensive women's medical practice with offices in Lewiston and Grand Island. The group provides a full spectrum of women’s health services and is recognized for its expertise in providing specialized, individualized care to the women of the Niagara region. Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center extends a warm welcome to the providers at Women’s Medicine of Niagara – Dr. Renee T. Baughman, Dr. Donna A. Feldman and Physician Assistant Laura M. DeBacco, RPA-C. We are also pleased to welcome Dr. Julie Madejksi of the Artemis Center for Health and Wellness and Dr. Roger Jammal of Eastern Niagara OB/GYN to our medical staff. Gynecological care at Memorial is also provided by longtime medical staff member (and 2012 Niagara Gazette Woman of Distinction) Dr. Jayaselvi Kolli. Our weekly obstetrics service operates Wednesday afternoons from 1 to 5 p.m. on the first floor of the hospital’s Mary C. Dyster Women’s Pavilion, 621 10th St., and provides healthcare and related support services.
Patients with gestational diabetes can receive specialized care at the Diabetes and Endocrinology Center of Niagara, also located in the Mary C. Dyster Pavilion. Diagnostic ImagingMemorial's Diagnostic Imaging services feature state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Services include standard diagnostic imaging, mammography and ultrasound procedures. MRI, CT Scanning and Bone Densitometry studies are available for the early detection of diseases such as cancer, stroke, heart disease and osteoporosis. No appointment is necessary for mammograms, bone density studies or routine X-rays performed at our Summit Healthplex outpatient center. Tests and procedures are conducted by certified technologists and overseen by a full-time board-certified radiologist. For more information on services at Summit, call 716-298-5872. To learn more about services at our Niagara Falls campus call 278-4341, Community Health Worker ProgramThe Community Health Worker Program is a medical center outreach that serves all pregnant women and their family members regardless of their ability to pay. The program is especially helpful for teen-agers and women with limited incomes. Labor and Delivery SuitesOur suites offer private homelike, accommodations for labor, delivery and recovery all in one room. Each room has a private shower, rocking chair, sleep chair, bassinet and television with cable access. Rooming-in is available for newborns to enhance family bonding. Other features include advanced monitoring systems for mom and baby. All registered nurses on our maternity floor specially trained to care for moms and babies before and after delivery and are certified in neonatal resuscitation procedures. Specialized services are available for high-risk maternity patients. Epidural anesthesia is available 24 hours a day. Newborn NurseryOur nursery is fully equipped to provide care for both well babies and babies who need extra medical attention. Rooming in with Mom is encouraged whenever possible to enhance bonding and to give parents a chance to become comfortable caring for their newborns. Lactation (Breastfeeding) SupportOur comprehensive lactation program includes breastfeeding classes, individual breastfeeding assistance during your childbirth stay and follow-up consultation after you return home both by telephone or in our modern lactation suite. In addition, LaLeche League breastfeeding support group meetings are held here monthly. For more information, call (716) 278-4623.
