Niagara Falls Memorial Rehabilitation System has one of the most comprehensive programs in Western New York. Services are provided at Memorial, The Heart Center of Niagara; the Schoellkopf Health Center and the Summit Healthplex in nearby Wheatfield. Services also are offered in conjunction with the Brain & Spine Center of Niagara, University Sports Medicine of Niagara, The Heart Center of Niagara, Summit Fitness Center, and The Hand & Shoulder Center of WNY, an academic group practice committed to achieving excellence in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of hand, elbow and shoulder injuries, disorders and congenital problems.

Our team includes Certified Spine and Back Therapists, Certified Hand Therapists, Certified Sports Medicine Specialists, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialists and Fellowship Trained Manual Therapists as well as doctorate prepared faculty who are highly involved in teaching physical therapy at area colleges and universities. We offer comprehensive clinic and pool therapy services to help people recover from sports, hand and orthopedic injuries, work and musculoskeletal injuries, neurological and balance disorders.

Our services include:

Physical Therapy
Comprehensive clinic and pool services to help people recover from sports/orthopedic injuries, musculoskeletal injuries and neurological disorders.

Hand Therapy
Our certified hand therapists are occupational therapists or physical therapists who have a minimum of five years of clinical experience, including 4,000 hours or more in direct practice in hand therapy. In addition, certified hand therapists must successfully pass a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper extremity rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapy
Complete hand, orthopedic and neurological rehab programs designed to help people reach their optimal level of independence in daily living.

Speech and Audiology
Evaluation and treatment of hearing, swallowing, speech, aphasia and voice problems.

Athletic Training Services
Athletic trainers and orthopedic surgeons who specialize in sports medicine provide on-field coverage for area high schools, community colleges and Division 1 sports teams.

Aquatic Therapy
Specialized aquatic care to promote early mobility, improve strength and endurance, manage pain, improve flexibility, improve balance and coordination, and promote core/spinal stability.

Neurological Care
Physical and occupational therapy professionals with specialty training treat a variety of neurological conditions at the hospital and in school, sub-acute and outpatient settings. Our goal is to promote individual independence and maximum function.

Speech Therapy
Treatment of speech disorders can be caused by excessive or inadequate voice use, problems with the vocal cord muscle tension, tissue masses, paralysis of the vocal cord(s), acid reflux and post operative or neurological conditions. Our speech therapists and radiologists team up to provide video swallow evaluations.

Audiology
An audiologist is a professional who diagnoses, treats, and manages individuals with hearing loss or balance problems for patient management from birth through adulthood. Audiologists determine appropriate patient treatment of hearing and balance problems by combining a complete history with a variety of specialized auditory and vestibular assessments.

Vestibular Rehab
Inner Ear or Vestibular disorders often cause vertigo, dizziness, spinning, wooziness, imbalance, tilting environment, off-balance, light-headedness, ear fullness, nausea, falls, and/or motion sickness. A specialty trained therapist will work with an individual’s physician, in managing and treating vestibular disorders.

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation
Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Department is certified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation.

The program's goals: Identify, modify, and manage risk factors; improve functional capacity, alleviate activity related symptoms, educate patients about the management of heart disease and improve quality of life.

Now there is a top-notch rehabilitation facility for rehab after your hospital stay. The state-of-the art Rooker Rehabilitation Unit offers individually designed, comprehensive rehab services to prepare you to return home safely and independently. Our dedicated team includes physical, occupational and speech therapists; registered dietitians; registered nurses., activities specialists and discharge planners.
