2005 Niagara Cup Classic raises money for new Emergency Department and Heart Center of Niagara

The 14th Annual Niagara Cup Classic golf tournament to benefit Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center was held June 7 at the Niagara Falls Country Club.

Proceeds from this year’s tournament will benefit the capital campaign for Memorial’s new Emergency Department and Heart Center of Niagara.

More than 200 golfers, including former Buffalo Sabre Rick Martin and Coach Dan Bazzani of Niagara Falls High School, the USA Today 2005 high school basketball coach of the year, took part in this year's tournament. Prizes were awarded during a post-tournament dinner for 300 participants and guests at the country club.

The master of ceremonies was Kevin O’Connell, chief weather anchor at WGRZ-TV2 in Buffalo.

The 2004 and 2005 Niagara Cup Classics combined raised more than $175,000 for the new ER/Heart Center facility, which is under construction at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and 10th Street in Niagara Falls.
