Alicia Bellingham Dana Day Alicia Bellingham and Dana Day are the 2005 recipients of junior volunteer scholarships awarded by Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Bellingham, a June graduate of Niagara Falls High School, will major in elementary education at Niagara University. She has volunteered more than 2,500 hours at the medical center since 2000. At NFHS, she was recording secretary of her class, treasurer of the Key Club and a member of the National Honor Society, band and drama club. She is the daughter of Greg and Robin Bellingham. Day, valedictorian of this year’s graduating class at Wilson High School, will major in pre-med and classic literature at Dartmouth College. A four-year volunteer, she credits her experience at the medical center with influencing her decision to become a pediatrician. At Wilson, she was vice president of the National Honor Society, editor of the school paper, a member of band and choir, and the recipient of numerous leadership awards. She is the daughter of Douglas and Diane Day. The $500 scholarships are co-sponsored by the Medical Center Auxiliary and Foundation. They have been awarded annually since 1999 to college-bound seniors who volunteered at least two years and 100 hours at the hospital. |
