Heart Center of Niagara event to feature demonstrations of new technology

Demonstrations of the new 64-slice CT scanner and tours of Niagara's newest cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center will be among the highlights of a community open house from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 3 at The Heart Center of Niagara, Walnut Avenue at 10th Street, Niagara Falls.

The new GE LightSpeed CT scanner can produce a detailed, non-invasive, diagnostic cardiac angiogram in just five seconds, giving patients a quicker, less painful and less risky alternative to the invasive angiograms done in other area hospitals.

The Heart Center's spacious cardiopulmonary rehab and fitness facility features the latest technology, its own indoor walking track, and men's and women's locker rooms with showers.

Demonstrations of the Heart Center's Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scanner also will be available and members of the Heart Center's clinical staff will be on hand to answer questions. Refreshments will be served.
