Niagara Cup Classic

The Niagara Cup Classic is one of Western New York's premier charity golf tournaments. Since its founding in 1992, the event has raised more than $900,000 for medical equipment and health care programs at Memorial Medical Center. The 2010 tournament raised $50,000.

The tournament is presented by the Memorial Medical Center Alliance and the Medical Center Foundation, which holds annual funding appeals on behalf of the hospital and its affiliates.

More than 160 golfers took to the links June 8 at the Niagara Falls Country Club for the 19th Annual Niagara Cup Classic.  The tournament's net proceeds will support Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center’s state-designated stroke center.

Tournament co-chair Dr. Komal Chandan, right, presented the Niagara Cup to the championship team from Health System Services.  Accepting the trophy were, from left, Bob Minicucci, Jeff Ross and tournament co-chair Doug Mooradian. Also playing in their foursome was Todd Anderson.  The quartet carded a best two balls net team score of 123.

Women’s all-star champions were Deb Kantor, Carrie Krieger, Patty McPherson and Kris Ruggiero.  Chris Collins carded a 66 to capture first place gross honors.
